My name is Karel Segers, I was born in Belgium and I have worked in the international film industry since the 1980’s.

I wrote my first produced script at age 17. You can watch it here, starring myself and my younger brother and sister.

I first freelanced for national radio, to become a full-time producer later. One of my shows survived my career, and ran for 17 years in primetime.

I have attended Cannes, most major film markets, and I once even covered the Oscars live on TV.

But it was my work as a screenwriter, producer, rights buyer, and Head of Film for a British pay TV channel that gave me an understanding of how the industry works.

This experience – and the DNA of three generations of teachers – helped me develope this screenwriting method.
